You've done the Art of Undieting 8-week challenge and got amazing results. You've lost weight, lost cm's and experienced incredible improvements in your health. If you completed the last workshop on "Life after the Challenge", you will know that that 8-week challenge is only the beginning of the journey of becoming the best healthy version of yourself. In fact, the journey consists of a life cycle with 4 phases and by completing the challenge, you've only just reached phase 3 of your journey.
The Art of Undieting Life Cycle
Phases 1 (Reset) and 2 (Reintroduce) of the program is referred to as "the 8-week challenge". The 8-week challenge is designed to kick-start your health journey and provide you with the much needed motivation and accountability as well as support system to ensure that you successfully complete the first 8 weeks of the program. Most people walk away with a sense of achievement and the knowledge of what the perfect eating plan for their unique needs look like. Towards the end of the 8-week challenge you enter Phase 3, the Rebalance phase of the journey. This is where you find balance and start experiencing food freedom.
If this is where your journey ends, we will say goodbye and you will continue with your life after the challenge. Some people might be back after a couple of months to redo a challenge, but if you're like most people, there is a good chance that you will slowly but surely return to your old ways. This is referred to as phase 4, the Relapse phase. Most people find that 8 weeks simply isn't enough to really embed those mindset changes into their lives. Food Freedom doesn't happen overnight. There is no magic button you can push to instantly transition yourself into a state where you are in complete control of your food choices. Where you say no to certain foods, not because you're not allowed to have it, but because you choose not to. Where you continue to make those conscious decisions and have pizza and wine with your family, or burgers and beers with your buddies, or tapas and cocktails with your best friend, without feelings of guilt, shame, resentment or judgement.
